Name: Shashwat Shukla

Department: Computer Science and Engineering

Company: NK Securities Research.

Profile: Quant.

When did you start your profile oriented preparation?:

15/05/2021

What was your prior experience and level of preparation(in the field) before the month of March?

During the month of march I was average in the competitive programming spectrum but I had the knowledge of DSA and OOPs and probability and statistics as they were covered in the department courses so I had the basic ideas but needed more practice.

The roadmap that you followed while preparing?

For the coding part, I first started with a revision of the DSA and OOPs concepts from the course materials and other books and then proceeded to solve the Coding Contests on Codeforces along with practicing Concept wise questions from CSES. I also solved some questions from leetcode and interviewbit. I tried to do questions on codeforces rated around 1700–1800 as it was the max level of questions that were asked in the coding round that I observed.

Resources relevant to the profile:

For Coding Practice I prefered the following

1. Solving Codeforces contest as they helped in me handling the time constraints during the coding rounds

2. CSES problem set and its material which is available on the CSES website which is really good for Concept wise practice

3. Revision of DSA and OOPs concepts covered in the course

4. Cracking the code Interview Book by Gayle Laakman

For Quant Part

1. Heard on the street by Timothy Falcon

What was the selection process of the company?

Selection process consisted of one Coding Round which had 10 multiple choice questions based on DSA and 2 Coding questions. This was followed by 2 rounds of interview. The first of those was the technical round which was based on OOPs concepts and CP problems and the second was based on Probability Statistics and Mathematical Puzzles. This interview also had a few HR type questions.
